Who We Are

The secret stitching society is a community of positive makers, meeting on the universal ground of creativity. Come on, let's make something beautiful!

Kim Gum-64_edited.jpg

Kim is the founder of the Secret Stitching Society.

She is a writer, humorist, storyteller, public speaker and avid maker.

Embroidery, pattern design, knitting, and wool applique usually fill her project bags.  She can also be found in her studio working with a paintbrush in hand or writing.

Her very favorite thing? Creating spaces for creative women to gather. Kim believes there is great power  when women connect in a safe place.

She can be found online at www.kimisfunny.com and on Instagram @kim_broidery

Barb is not only kind but also a get 'er done kind of person.

Have a job that needs done? Barb blows it out of the park.

In 2019 Barb walked into our (now closed) yarn shop and told one of our teachers, Ashley (who was wearing a pirate outfit for Halloween), that she wanted to learn to knit or crochet.  She fell in love with knitting and that's all they wrote

She has grown into a stellar knitter!

Barb has been married for 37 years, has 2 sons and 6 grandchildren. Barb loves to cook because of the joy it brings people.
